Corvette Koni Shocks

Sport -Externally Rebound Adjustable.
These dampers can be adjusted, literally at the turn of a knob,atechnique borrowed from Fromula-1 racing where Koni dampershavedominated the field for years. One can switch back and forth, inmostcases in a matter of seconds, from a comfortable "touring" settingto amore firm setting for a sporty drive. By means of a knob thedampingforces can be altered to driving conditions or personalpreferences.

FSD - Instandard shock absorbers the rebound damping characteristic isdefinedby the oil flow through the piston assembly (1). The KoniFrequencySelective Damper has an extra valve (2) that controls an oilflowparallel to the piston assembly. This valve opens for amplemovement offluid over high frequency inputs such as expansion jointsand roughroads, which gives the vehicle a smooth ride. When thevehicle bodybegins moving over low frequency inputs such as corneringtransitionsand long bumps, theFSD valve is closed and makes animmediate increase in the damping forcefor optimal control. Since thevalve is an integrated part of thehydraulic valve system, noadditional cables, sensors or any otherelectronic devices are needed.
