Mustang Brake Pads
I (Stephen Anderson) have been Road Racing my '95 Cobra R Mustang at the local Northern California tracks for the past several years and have personally had good results from Hawk HPS, HP+, Blue and HT10's, Pagid RS14, Porterfield R4S and Raybestos ST43 and
ST41's. Out of those I would rank them as follows
from Highest to lowest bite. Raybestos ST41 - Huge initial bite, hard on rotors and is like an on/off switch. I had to change my driving style when using these pads. ABS and sticky tires are highly recommended. Raybestos ST43 - Close to the ST41's, much easier on rotors, easier to modulate. We've been selling these to the endurance racing crowd with good results. Hawk HT10 - A step down, but very good feel. Good pad if you do not have ABS enabled. Can take longer to bed in than other pads. Hawk Blue - Similar to HT10 - I would only recommend these if you can not get the HT10's as they eat up rotors very fast. Hawk HP+ - The most aggressive pad that can be driven on the street. It will be dusty and noisy but is easy on the rotors. Great for Auto-X. Hawk HPS - Excellent performance street pad and should not be used on the racetrack. Less dusty and quieter than the HP+. Porterfield R4S - Most popular street performance pad because it is very quiet and virtually no dust.
